JRPG fans will have a lot to look forward to when September comes around. Not only will we be getting the long-in-development Final Fantasy XV on September 30, we’ll also be getting the much-anticipated sequel to Atlus’ JRPG, Persona 5 on September 15.
Well, Japan is getting Persona 5 on September 15.
Atlus released the release date with a new trailer that shows off plenty of gameplay footage and in-game anime scenes. Check out the trailer below (which is in Japanese):
The nearly 5-minute trailer gave us a great look at the battle system, locations, the social/day job mechanics and the characters you’ll encounter in the game.
Alongside the date announcement, Atlus also revealed the 20th anniversary-themed Collector’s Edition for Persona 5 which includes an art book, a 5-CD soundtrack of all Persona games, and DLCs (Persona 3 and 4 outfits, in addition to the game itself. The Collector’s Edition is available for order in Japan only and is priced at ¥13,800 (around $128).
Unfortunately, no word on what’s the official date for the western release of Persona 5 or whether it will have a Collector’s Edition set as well. Persona 5 will come to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on September 15 for Japan.
