PUBG Corporation announced that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has reached 400 million players worldwide across all available platforms. That figure includes over 50 million copies of the game sold on Windows PC and Xbox One.
Mobile devices seems to be responsible for the remaining 350 million players that are playing the game. The numbers were significant thanks to internet giant Tencent, who is the exclusive publisher of PUBG in China after partnering with Bluehole. The online shooter is currently playable for free on iOS and Android.
Based on a statement from PUBG Corporation, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds managed to attract over 87 million players daily across all platforms and 227 million players each month. Last March at The Game Developers Conference, PUBG founder Brendan Greene stated that his battle royale game had sold 40 million copies in its first year. In order to increase PUBG sales, the game’s publisher is offering a discount for the first time ever on Steam.
Steam’s PC version of PUBG is currently on sale for pnly $19.99, a big 33 percent off its original cost. The promotion is valid until July 5, 2018.
