Before the new PlayStation Plus establish, PS Plus and PS Now code stacking for existing members will be stopped as confirmed by Sony for existing members. PS Plus FAQ page has uploaded for more recent new information of PS Plus and PS Now.
One of the latest FAQ sections mentioned that they are preparing to establish the new PlayStation Plus membership service, they are also working on behind the scenes to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible for all of their members. Therefore, they have to temporarily disabled the stacking membership until it is launched for the current customers.
Sony has apparently preventing the ability to redeem PlayStation Plus codes from third-party retailers, or through the PlayStation Store.
After news published that those with simultaneous PS Plus and PS Now subscriptions will get upgraded to PS Plus Premium in June, some existing customers have tried to extend or ‘stack’ their PlayStation Plus membership with the length of the new subscription being equal to their longest current membership. However, the users then reported the codes being rejected after an attempted redemption when completed purchasing the PS Plus code.
What is the new PlayStation Plus all about?
Sony has been brought together PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now in an all-new PlayStation Plus membership service that provides more choice and value to customers across three membership plans globally: Essential, Extra, and Premium (Deluxe in non-streaming markets). Sony’s focus is on providing a curated and diverse game portfolio, with hundreds of high-quality titles to choose from when you subscribe to Extra or Premium (Deluxe).
The PlayStation Plus subscription service is being completely redeveloped in June, by a soft launch of these new tiers of subscription already being made in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
Players from the mentioned countries able to select between the Essential, Extra, or Deluxe tiers of PlayStation Plus. Essential is how PlayStation Plus has already developed since its existence, enable the players to play games online, connect to cloud storage, and access to the PlayStation Plus catalogue of games.
The Extra ties includes in the latest Game Catalog, which extends the library of games beyond the free monthly packages and the varied PlayStation Plus catalogue. The Essential tier has all of that along with Game Trials for new games and access to the Classics Catalog.
The original PlayStation Plus subscription already provided subscribes access to essential PlayStation exclusives like Bloodborne and The Last of Us. So the addition of the new Game Catalog opens up the library to more third-party titles. This contains must-play games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, alongside remasters of Final Fantasy VII to XII.
