Pokémon GO Ends Support For Older Android Devices
Niantic, the developer of Pokémon GO have announced that Pokémon GO will no longer be supported on the devices that still run on the Android 6 operating system.
As in the latest game update, Version 241, requires the users running Android 6 “Marshmallow” on their devices to update their current operating system if they wish to continue playing the game.
On the other hand, the owners for Apple and Android 7 “Nougat” users mostly will not affected by the new update.
Meanwhile, the developer also mentioned that their update page are currently focusing on the latest operating systems and technologies. With ending support on Android 6, Niantic is able to modernized the development process and possibly tap into strengthen software and hardware.
In the mean time, Pokémon GO lately has been collaborating with its trading card game, Pokémon TCG to bring an unexpected outcome between the two distinct Pokémon games.
Since Niantic has announced to stop the Pokémon GO on the Android 6 devices, now the game is only available on iOS and Android running on Android 7 or above.
