Crusader Kings III is set in the 15th century on a map that stretches from Iceland to India, from the Arctic Circle to Central Africa. You can choose to play from a wide range of characters, from a lowly noble of a single province, to the Holy Roman Emperor himself. Your task is to guide your dynasty through the centuries, ensuring the security and power of each new generation. The way you do so is completely up to you. You can build up a strong army and conquer through military might, you can be a pious king and bring the religious powers to your side, or even just marry yourself or your children to increase your territories.

They say that to change the world, you must first change yourself, and that’s where the new Lifestyle system comes in. Your character can adopt one of five different lifestyle categories, each with three full skill trees. You first choose the Lifestyle you want, and then you select a focus within it. The Focuses convey immediate bonuses, each Focus also comes with its own unique set of events, connected to the theme of the Focus. After you’ve picked a Focus, you will start gaining experience and can start unlocking perks. The final Perk in each tree always gives you a trait.

Crusader Kings III is set in a time where intrigue is a commonplace occurrence amongst the rulers of the world. Use your spymaster to discover plots against your dynasty and your rule, or recruit agents to assist in your schemes to undermine or murder anyone who stands between you and power. You can even get them to seduce or dig up dirt on other characters for your benefits.
