Possible Features Coming To Pokémon GO Teased By Niantic
Nintendo has secured themselves a smash hit on iOS and Android with the release of Pokémon GO and developer Niantic is looking ahead at the future with teases of new features coming to the augmented reality game.
Speaking with Business Insider, Niantic CEO John Hanke alludes to the improvements that the developer is set to roll out in the coming months for Pokémon GO, among which will include “deeper gameplay mechanics” and the ability to trade Pokémon with friends.
While Hanke did not go into details as to how and when the feature will be implemented, he realises that trading is one of the “core element” of a Pokémon game and will also be a key component Pokémon GO.
In addition to that, Hanke also mentioned the possibility of creating a dedicated AR device, ala Microsoft HoloLens, which he describes as a “fun thing to take advantage of.” Though no official confirmation has been made on such a device.
As it is right now, Nintendo’s stock is at an all-time after Pokémon GO’s release with the app overtaking many of the most popular apps on iOS and Android devices.
Pokémon GO is available now on Android and iOS on selected regions. A global rollout is expected soon for the rest of the world.
