Quake 2 RTX Will Include Ray-Tracing Support This Coming June
Quake 2 will be getting a ray tracing upgrade next month on June 6 for PC and Linux. GeForce RTX trailer below shows the great possibilities of ray tracing in the demo game.
The new version is the works of Nvidia and id Software, and Quake 2 RTX demo comes with realistic real-time lighting, shadows, effects, and virtually every aspect of the 1997 classic.
Additionally, players who own a GeForce RTX graphics card, or other graphic cards can download and access the first three levels of the game for free, fully remastered with path-traced graphics and a variety of other enhancements. For those who already has a copy of Quake II can play the campaign in its entirety, and play against others in online multiplayer. On June 6th, at 6am PT, Nvidia will release Quake II RTX as a direct download on their website.
