After rebranding itself as a free-to-play game on PC, Evolve Stage 2 is introducing a new playable Hunter, that’s coming to Turtle Rock’s 4v1 multiplayer shooter.
The new character will be part of the new update which will include balance changes, a “try before you buy” option, as well as Hunter advanced tutorials.
Players wanting to play as Quantum Caira can see her in action with the recently released trailer. Here’s a breakdown of her abilities, courtesy of Polygon:
Proton Field – Deploys a zone that damages enemies over time. Multiple fields stack.
Regeneration Field – Deploys a Generyst zone that heals each nearby Hunter over time. Multiple Regeneration Fields stack.
Neutron Barrier – Applies a short damage-resistance buff to all nearby Hunters.
Generyst II Field – Heal hunters and damages monsters in the area for the duration of the effect
Quantum Caira is part of the “Shear Madness” update for Evolve that will last throughout the month. The update will be in five instances over five weeks and will include new maps, new cooperative game mode, additional character adaptations, and more.
Evolve Stage 2 is available to play for free on PC. Those that have brought Evolve on PC before will be given a “Founder” status, which at the moment doesn’t entail any special privileges. Console versions on the hand will still require purchasing to be played.
