PlayStation 5 exclusive Roguelike Third Person Shooter Returnal is right around the corner, and developer Housemarque has just released another Developer diary. Check it out below:
The focus in the video is on the narrative, and how it’s been intertwined with gameplay. There aren’t any new story details to discover, but narrative director Gregory Louden touches on how the player will learn about the alien planet Atropos alongside Selene, as well as find out more about her past. It’s certainly an interesting watch, and there are some new gameplay snippets that show off a little more of the frantic combat.
In Returnal, you play as Selene who after crash-landing on this shape-shifting world, must search through the barren landscape of an ancient civilization for her escape. Isolated and alone, she finds herself fighting tooth and nail for survival. Again and again, she’s defeated – forced to restart her journey every time she dies.
Returnal releases on the 30th of April on PlayStation 5. Get the game when it comes out with our PSN cards below:
