RTS/Tower Defense Hybrid Colony Siege Enters Steam Early Access

Finifugal Games recently released their debut title Colony Siege onto Steam Early Access! Check out the gameplay trailer here:

A hybrid of traditional RTS and modern tower defense gameplay, Colony Siege offers full online campaign co-op and two wildly different invading enemy forces, each requiring new strategies to counter across a 23-mission campaign, with 14 in this Early Access release.

While tower defense games are typically passive experiences, players in Colony Siege will be leading from the front in a mobile command aircraft able to attack enemies directly, repair fortifications and deploy powerful swarm-clearing special attacks.

Whether playing solo or co-op, players should prepare for a dynamic battlefield. Rather than just rely on traps and turrets, commanders will have to build mobile combat units and command them in classic real-time strategy fashion.

Players will need every tool they can get their hands on as Colony Siege serves up double the trouble. As well as the more tower defense-like Xenos swarm and their mindless hordes, the hybrid Riven army deploy more human tactics and hardware. Players will have to build complex laser-wall mazes to funnel enemies into traps while rushing to defend their own fortifications against aggressive hunter-killer units.
