Call of Duty: Warzone‘s aptly named Warzone Rumble mode headlines the playlist update for this week of Infinity Ward’s live service battle royale. Check out the season 4 trailer featuring the mode here:
As outlined in Activision’s latest “This Week in Call of Duty” blog post, the Limited Time Event will join the regular modes of Battle Royale Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads in the free-to-play shooter, and will likely stay there till next Tuesday’s update.
Warzone Rumble pits two teams of 50 against each other in Verdansk, offering a Team Deathmatch-style spin on the game’s usual last-squad-standing tournaments that make up its competitive battle royale.
In addition, the update is adding new Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints, and microtransactions to Call of Duty: Warzone‘s in-game store, while the core multiplayer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is also getting a refresh with the Party Mode playlist, 8v8 Cheshire Park and Shoot House 24/7.
If it sounds like a minor update for Call of Duty this week, rumour has it that Call of Duty: Warzone season 5 will drastically reshape the map of Verdansk, with the addition of working train said to be just one of its new features, so it’s likely that Infinity Ward is gearing up for the big reveal in just a few weeks’ time.
