Rust Lost Over 4 Million Through Steam Refunds
Rust developer, Garry Newman of Facepunch Studios, reported on Twitter that 329,970 copies of Rust have already been refunded on Steam. According to Newman, Steam users claims the game was ‘not fun’ or the game was riddled with performance issues. The Steam refund policy allows users to refund a game purchase, as long they initiate a refund within two weeks and have logged less than two hours of play time.

Rust launched in 2013 and had successfully sold 5.5 million copies to date. However, 330,000 remains an extremely high number of refunds offered out and this is a clear indication of how much Steam’s refund system can really affect a particular game.
