Samsung Plans To Launch A Folding Smartphone In 2017
This year saw Samsung release the much-lauded Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphone to the masses. 2017, however, looks to be a much a revolutionary year for Samsung as they plan to release the first mass-marketed foldable smartphone.
The Samsung Galaxy X is the Korean tech giant’s attempt in reinvigorating the smartphone market using the foldable screen that can transform a normal 5-inch smartphone into a small tablet.
Rumored to be part of Samsung’s Galaxy 2017 launch line, the latest rumor of Galaxy X’s 2017 came via a reputable Samsung blog, SamMoblie, who cites industry insiders on the information.
Back in 2014, Samsung released a concept video (which you can see above) that showcased their foldable screen technology and potential design for the phone. While slightly outdated, it does give an idea of what design approach that Samsung will take with the Galaxy X.
If the rumors are to be believed, expect the Galaxy X to launch alongside the inevitable Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge next year.
