Developer Ys Net has revealed that the company managed to raised $7,179,510 for Shenmue 3 through its crowdfunding efforts.
This first Kickstarter campaign brought in $6,333,295 in 2015 and a grand total of $7,179,510 has been raised by 81,087 backers for the sequel. Shenmue 3’s Kickstarter campaign broke the record for fastest video game to reach $1 million in contributions on a crowdfunding platform, and hitting its $2 million target within a day.

Shenmue 3 will launch on August 27, 2019 and will be available on PlayStation 4 and PC.
