Sony Switching Strategy With PlayStation VR, Goes Commercial
Wall Street Journal reported that Sony intends to set PlayStation VR headsets in entertainment joints in Japan.
There are no present plans for Sony to run its facility, however, a new location-based entertainment department inside Sony Interactive Entertainment will lead the virtual reality initiative and search for partners in various industries.
Polygon reported about the growing significance of virtual reality arcades in helping to propel technology into becoming mainstream.
While distinct types of VR arcades have already been around since the late 90’s, it isn’t been until lately that new virtual reality gaming centres have now been gaining immense popularity all over the world, beginning in China, then in other areas of Asia and across Europe and North America.
About 915,000 PlayStation VR headsets had been sold to date and Sony is on track in meeting its sales target of selling 1 million devices in six months.
