It looks like the rumours of PlayStation 4.5’s (aka Neo) reveal could be true as invitations to a PlayStation event, set in New York, was sent out to press sites.
The PlayStation Meeting event, which takes place on September 7th, will be held at the PlayStation Theater in New York. While no other details have been given about what announcements could take place, it seems likely that it’ll relate to the Neo.
“We hope to see you there, and we can’t wait to share details with you about the PlayStation Business”, writes the invitation. Previous reports by Gameblog and Vice Gaming have indicated the September 7 event will be the debut of Sony’s 4K console, with the event expected to be a “technical” showcase for the Neo.
Back in E3 2016, Sony Interactive president Andrew House confirmed to the media that Sony is working on a new console that is “intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4.” The PlayStation Neo is an “upgraded” console which will allow users to play 4K media/games and extra processing to render the PlayStation VR in higher quality.
