Sony’s Mini PlayStation Classic Console Coming In December

Sony announced that the company is bringing back its first PlayStation console as a mini gaming device known as the PlayStation Classic, similar to Nintendo’s mini retro console that comes bundled with the original console’s most popular games.

The device will cost $99.99 and will come pre-loaded with 20 titles, such as Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, Wild Arms and more. The device will launch worldwide on December 3rd, 2018. In addition to a standard mini console, buyers will also receive two classic PlayStation 1 controllers for games that support multiplayer when they purchase the bundle.

The original PlayStation was first introduced to the world nearly 25 years ago, and it was the first home console in video game history to ship 100 million units worldwide, offering consumers a chance to play games with real-time 3D rendered graphics in their homes for the first time. The mini console is approximately 45% smaller than the original PlayStation, and it emulates the original’s look and feel by featuring similar controllers and packaging.
