Stylish and Visceral FPS Severed Steel Announced

Watch out, a brand new style of FPS is coming. Introducing Greylock Studio’s stylish and visceral Severed Steel coming to Steam, PS4, and Xbox One. Check out the game’s PS4 announcement trailer below:

Severed Steel is a single-player shooter featuring a fully destructible voxel environment, loads of bullet time, and a unique one-armed protagonist. It’s you, your trigger finger, and a steel-toed boot against a superstructure full of bad guys. Chain together wall runs, dives, flips, and slides to take every last enemy down.

Play as Steel, a nimble, one-armed sharpshooter on a mission. Steel loses her arm in an accident just before the start of the game. EdenSys, the gigantic corporation responsible for her injury, decides to abandon her rather than help. The campaign is about Steel liberating others crushed under the boot of EdenSys while seeking revenge for her abandonment.

As you only have one arm, there is no reloading in this game. Instead, you must pick your shots well and be ready to pry a loaded weapon from your enemies’ cold dead hands. This makes long drawn out battles undesirable. Instead, Steel has superhuman agility and reflexes, allowing you to dodge bullets, leap off walls, slide kick, and more. As a bonus, while performing stunts, you cannot be hit by enemy fire.

The game also features a fully destructible voxel environment. This means you can easily pepper through plaster with sharp 4.7 mm rounds, punch through thick concrete with .50 cal slugs, or even make big holes in things with your arm cannon! And with the dynamic, unscripted, squad-based AI, no two battles are the same.
