Publisher Tencent has closed down PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds mobile in China and replaced it with a regulation friendly version of the game called Game for Peace.

An analysts at China Renaissance said that:
With PUBG Mobile having around 70 million average daily active users in China now, we expect Game for Peace could potentially generate 8 billion yuan to 10 billion yuan ($1.18 billion to $1.48 billion) in annual revenue.
Game for Peace received monetization approval in April and looks quite identical to PUBG. For example, when you shoot people, they don’t bleed. Instead, the dead gets up, drops a loot box and wave goodbye. However, Weibo users reported that their progress in PUBG was carried over to Game for Peace after updating their game.
