We have no plans currently on releasing Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 on Steam. We entrust Epic to deliver a smooth journey for our fans, from preordering the game and enjoying our Beta to the launch of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 on March 15. Epic continues to disrupt the videogame [sic] industry, and their third party digital distribution model is the latest example, and something Ubisoft wants to support.
Ubisoft will also be selling the The Division 2 via its very own online store. Although the PC version of The Division 2 has been up for preorder on Steam, the product page and listing for the game is no longer accessible. The main reason game developers are transitioning over to Epic Game Store is due to its 88/12 revenue split, meaning developers gets to keep most of its profits. Additionally, players who pre-order the PC version of the game on the Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store, Steam or at select online or physical retailers, Ubisoft will honor all purchases of the title.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 will be released for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 15, 2019.
