The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a 2014 horror adventure video game developed by the independent Polish studio, The Astronauts.

This game is set in an open world environment, in which the player can roam around and explore at will. Players will take the role of Paul Prospero, an occult-minded detective who receives a disturbing letter from Ethan Carter. He uses his paranormal abilities to solve crimes, with abilities such as sensing where important objects are located and reassembling the timeline of events tied to a certain death.
