The Voice of Star Wars Admiral Ackbar Passes Away At 93
“It’s a Trap!”
The iconic line was first uttered by Admiral Ackbar in Return of the Jedi and has been part of pop culture lexicon ever since. Unfortunately, we won’t be hearing warnings from Admiral Ackbar anymore as Erik Bauersfeld, the man that voiced Ackbar, has passed away at 93.

Bauersfeld, a radio actor veteran voiced the role in Return of the Jedi and returned to voice Ackbar again in the recent Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Despite only having a handful of lines, Bauersfeld managed to make an impact with the fans for voicing Admiral Ackbar with the most recognizable line being “It’s a Trap!”.
It’s a terrible loss and we send our condolences to Bauersfeld’s family.
