We finally have a release date for the Xbox One console. Get ready for the slimmer, sleeker, version of Microsoft’s gaming console when the Xbox One S releases in select regions on August 2.
Major Nelson dropped the release date of the Xbox One S yesterday along with a new snazzy trailer to showcase the new console’s capabilities. Those that pre-ordered the device will receive their console on August 2 and if you want to order one, the pre-orders for the 2TB Xbox One S launch edition is still available on the Microsoft store.
The new Xbox One S not only sports a sleeker and slimmer body, it also comes with improved internals. The console will be able to play Blu-Ray movies and stream in 4K and has High Dynamic Range (HDR) support for video and gaming which allows for a sharper contrast between lights and darks on games such as Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, and Scalebound.
The Xbox One S 2TB launch edition will be available on August 2, 2016, in select regions and will cost you $399. The 1TB and 500GB model will be priced at $349 and $299 respectively.
