TNG eWallet Revises Monthly PINs Reload

Touch ‘n Go (TNG) eWallet is set to introduce significant changes to its reload PINs and balance classification system, effective from 27 July onwards. Per the new Clause 1.11, the monthly limit for users to top-up/reload their Touch ‘n Go eWallet via the Touch ‘n Go eWallet Reload PINs (“Reload PINs”) shall be increased from RM1,500.00 to RM8,000.00 per calendar month. This adjustment aims to provide our users with greater flexibility and convenience in managing their eWallet balance. However, there’s a catch:

TNG reload PINs are not transferable

One of the key changes is the classification of funds obtained through TNG reload PINs as non-transferable balance. Starting from 27 July, these funds will be restricted from being transferred to other TNG eWallet accounts, bank accounts, or GO+. However, they can still be used for a wide range of online and offline retail transactions, including bill payments, prepaid reloads, parking fees, movie tickets, and purchases from partner platforms.

Limitation to RM1,000 Monthly Quota

In addition, Touch ‘n Go eWallet allows a monthly quota of RM1,000 for credit card reloads to be treated as transferable eWallet balance for free. This means that the first RM1,000 of credit card reloads can still be transferred to other TNG eWallet accounts, bank accounts, or GO+ as a transferable balance without any additional charges. However, subsequent credit card top-ups exceeding the RM1,000 quota will be subject to an admin fee of 1% if users wish to treat them as transferable balance.

User Tiers’ Limitation

It’s important to note that the revised terms and conditions do not explicitly state whether reload PINs can be reclassified as transferable balance by paying the 1% admin fee. Users are advised to refer to the latest T&C document for further clarification on this matter.

By implementing these changes, Touch ‘n Go eWallet aims to streamline its balance classification system, providing users with a more transparent and efficient digital payment experience.
