Tom Clancy’s The Division will be getting a sequel, as Ubisoft has made it official through their blogpost. The new game will be running on an updated version of the Snowdrop engine and the development team are taking everything they’ve learned over the past two years and applying it towards the sequel to make sure they’re getting it right.
All of these new features and experiences have made our team better, too. We’re nimbler and better prepared to take action based on feedback. And now, more than ever before, we have a clear vision of what’s important and what continues to make The Division a special experience for so many people. Following our Year 2 anniversary celebration, we’re going to keep supporting that experience with new title updates that will bring new Global Events, Xbox One X enhancements, and more.
Julian Gerighty, the game’s creative director, said in a livestream that Division 2 will be shown at this year’s E3 show in June. The team at Ubisoft apparently has started working on main concepts for the new game after the first The Division launched. Development of the game will be spearheaded by Massive Entertainment with Ubisoft Annecy, Redstorm, Reflections, Ubisoft Bucharest and Ubisoft Shanghai. These are the same studios that are involved in the Tom Clancy’s The Division.
