Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Operation Breakpoint Releasing In October 2019

Ubisoft has officially announced the next installment for the Tom Clancy series, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and the game will launch October 4 on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint strands players behind enemy lines, fighting military drones and former brothers-in-arms in a vast corporate R&D colony turned hostile hunting ground. The narrative is set some time after Ghost Recon Wildlands and takes place on Auroa, an island in the South Pacific owned by billionaire entrepeneur Jace Skell and his company Skell Technology. Skell acquired Auroa with a vision of turning it into a hub for the design, research, development and production of drone technology for military and commercial applications. In reality, Skell Technology has amassed more political and economic power than some developed nations. The United States government deploys a Ghost Recon fireteam to Auroa when evidence emerges that suggests Skell Technology was complicit in political assassinations around the world. Once on the island, they find that Cole D. Walker (Jon Bernthal), a former Ghost, has been hired by Skell Technology to train a security team armed with cutting-edge weapons and equipment. Calling themselves the Wolves, this unit has commandeered Skell Technology’s drone production and is hunting the Ghosts.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint will feature competitive PvP gameplay, and all character progression will be shared between single-player, co-op, and multiplayer gameplay. Players will be able to customize their Nomad and access the character freely between PvE and PvP gameplay. Character experience, class rank, equipment level, and gear will be shared across both modes.

Ubisoft has also confirmed that the upcoming Ghost Recon Breakpoint will be an Epic Games Store exclusive. Similar to recent Ubisoft releases like Anno 1800 and The Division 2, the new Ghost Recon game will only be available on Epic Games Store and Ubisoft’s Uplay distribution service for the PC version.
