Valve Purchased Firewatch’s Studio Camp Santo

Campo Santo, the studio that created adventure game Firewatch has been bought by Valve. In their official blog post, the small development team at Campo Santo announced that they will be joining Valve, and the acquisition by the digital store operator will not affect the current project that they’re working on.

Valve plans to leave Campo Santo intact as a team, instead of re-assigning its new resources into other projects. The studio will relocate to Seattle soon.

The twelve of us at Campo Santo have agreed to join Valve, where we will maintain our jobs as video game developers and continue production on our current project, In the Valley of Gods.

Campo Santo, founded in 2013, released the critically and successful adventure game Firewatch in February of 2016. The studio’s next game, In the Valley of Gods, is scheduled for a launch next year.
