A new hero for DOTA 2 has been revealed by Valve during the DOTA 2 Internationals. Prepare to join the fray as the Monkey King when he arrives this fall.

The Monkey King is the first “original” DOTA 2 character that was not part of the original “Defense of the Ancients” mod. Based on the character Sun Wukong from Chinese literature, the Monkey King abilities have yet to be revealed by Valve. We’ll learn more when Valve releases the full update patch for this fall.
In other news, China’s Wings Gaming won the top prize for DOTA 2 International with a pool prize of $9.1 million against America’s Digital Chaos.
