Few days ago at TennoCon 2018, Digital Extremes announced two new expansions for Warframe, which is the continuity to the game’s 2017 Plains of Eidolon update.
Warframe will introduce a new faction and lore to the game with the Fortuna expansion, happening within an open world environment on Venus. Furthermore, fans can look forward to another interesting expansion to be released after Fortuna.
The new faction is known as Solaris United, cyborgs who resides in cyberpunk-like Fortuna, a city that functions as a hub city like Cetus in Plains of Eidolon. Players will come across Orokin structures, sea-like flora, giant mushrooms, alien rock formations, rare creatures, and much more.
The second expansion is called Codename: Railjack, that will arrive sometime next year, and promises to take players from surface encounters in Fortuna to space battle. Players will group up and take on roles piloting a spaceship, handling its weapons, and fixing or managing its shields. Railjack also enable players to board a ship on land or ascend into space to fight. In addition, players will also have the freedom to even launch ‘Archwings’ into space.
This teaser provides a good idea of what Codename: Railjack is all about:
Warframe is available for Windows PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Digital Extremes did state that a Nintendo Switch version of this game is currently in development.
