Where is Minecraft 1.9 Version?

No release date has been announced yet from the Minecraft Wiki as Dinnerbone have yet to finalize the latest update. This 1.9 version is known as The Combat Update, but, what is it they are planning on this new Minecraft version?

The latest Minecraft version will focus on Bosses, Clouds, Command Blocks, Death Message, Maps, Inventory, Shaders, Skeletons, Strongholds, Swords, and all hostile mods. We hope this Minecraft version will be worth the wait.
