You Won’t Be Able To Buy Fallout 76 From Steam

Bethesda has decided to launch its next action rpg Fallout 76 exclusively on its own Bethesda.net website, instead of Steam.

A representative from Bethesda informs PC Gamer via e-mail that the PC version of Fallout 76, for both the B.E.T.A. and the launch, will be available only via Bethesda.net and not on Steam.

Although the company has not given a specific reason for skipping Valve’s platform, it is possible that, just like Epic Games, the company doesn’t want to allow Valve to take a 30% revenue cut from Fallout 76 sales. Additionally, in the updated FAQ, it states that the planned beta version will actually be the full game, and any progress players make in it will be carried over into the release version in November.
